Yoga Teacher

Sharon Greentree

Sharon Greentree

Hi! If you’d like to get in touch, use the email form on the contact page or give me a call.

I was drawn to Yoga in my early 20s and have been a lifelong student ever since.

With 20 years teaching experience, I offer classes, workshops and bespoke 1:1 sessions to students in Portsmouth and Westborne and surrounding areas.

In the late 90’s I was regularly attending a Yoga class, when the teacher, suggested to me that I should train to become a Yoga Teacher.

In 2004, I completed my Hatha Yoga teacher training with the Kevala Centre.

During 2017 I was looking for something more to offer, as I was beginning to experience the symptoms of peri- menopause and then menopause.

During this time, I discovered Restorative Yoga and instantly recognised that this was a powerful and deeply healing practise, that supported me to manage my symptoms of anxiety & sleepless nights.

So, In February 2018 I attended 50-hour teacher training course in Restorative Yoga with Deborah Berryman, a student of Judith Lasater.

I have been profoundly moved and inspired by the changes in my own health, and that of my students and one-to-one clients.

I feel so grateful that I am able to share the practice of Restorative Yoga with its incredible benefits to my students and 1:1 clients as well as alongside my classes in Hatha Yoga, using my knowledge of both practices to support my students.

I soon realised that my main aim was to support women with managing stress, anxiety and self-care, so in 2021 I studied and successfully completed my Auyervedic Face Lift Massage training with Mind-Body Medical.

Ayurveda rejuvenates the body, and Yoga deals with the purification of the mind. So I felt that together they both complement and embraced each other.

In 2023 I successfully completed training as a sound energy practitioner, to offer Vibroacoustic Massage with Tibetean singing bowls.

This is a deeply healing treatment that brings calm and relaxation to the mind and body. It can help reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, bringing mental clarity. It can also help to manage pain and improve sleep.

I am passionate about nutrition, & everything natural to support my well-being.

WHAT HER

students say

I highly recommend Restorative Yoga for taking some time out to reset. Sharon Greentree is a fantastic tutor, giving you practical poses to recreate at home to help ease sleep issues or general tension and stress build-ups.

Group sessions, online and 1:1 – she has is covered.

Nicky, Westbourne

Just had my first session of restorative yoga and think I only have one word… Wow!

It was amazing. I feel relaxed but energized, and the pain I had when waking has miraculously disappeared. Plus, my busy mind is so much quieter.

I have booked 3 more sessions as I know this is going to go a long way to maintaining wellness and good health. I love finding new things that help me to stay well, and this I absolutely loved. Thanks Sharon

Clare, Southsea

Really relaxing restorative yoga session with Sharon this afternoon, it felt like having a massage. Well worth a 121…

Lisa, Southsea

I attended one of Sharon’s restorative yoga sessions just before lockdown and I absolutely loved it, Sharon is great and makes everyone welcome. I was therefore delighted when Sharon arranged online sessions which I took part in yesterday – and it was equally as good.

Thank you, Sharon, this helped so much after a very busy day mentally and gave me a break from everything currently going on in the world. Easy to follow and amazing to take part in.

Vicky, Southsea

Thank you, Sharon. That was a great treatment! Long standing tensions in neck, shoulders, hips melting away into that bolster.

Body feeling more relaxed, open and stronger somehow. I Highly recommend this soothing, gentle yet powerful treatment… 5 stars!

Cherie, Emsworth

Attended the first Restorative Yoga Workshop with Sharon on Sunday. What a wonderful experience.

Deep relaxation and meditation and tips to use at home for own practice. Thank you.

Annie, Portsmouth
I cannot stress enough how wonderful Restorative Yoga is. Try it once and you’ll be telling everyone about it.

Sharon is a phenomenal teacher and I can honestly say that I have never relaxed to the extent that I do when I’m in her classes. Her 1:1 sessions are even more beneficial as she tailors the session to suit each individual.

Invest in yourself, self-care is a necessity not a luxury.

Fran, Southsea

I had a 1:1 Restorative Yoga session yesterday… that was completely beyond my expectations. I released loads of tension in my shoulders, my lower back and legs, and to top it all off I slept like a dream last night. So, so good!

Best treatment for muscle aches and stress release in Portsmouth! Sharon is so attentive and considerate of what the body needs and really tailored the session to suit me. Excellent!

Emma, Southsea

Amazing session yesterday so relaxing. Just what I needed!
